SUMMARY:RSPB Medmerry
DESCRIPTION:Organisers: Paul Emmerson & Richard Allan\nRSPB Medmerry is just along the coast from RSPB Pagham Harbour\, and was created through one of Europe’s largest coastal realignment projects. It transformed a floodplain into a thriving wetland habitat. The reserve itself is a mix of saltmarsh\, lagoons\, and shingle banks\, while the surrounding area is rough grassland\, hedgerows and scrub. \nThis mix of habitats gives a very good mix of birds. In early winter we will find wildfowl\, waders\, raptors\, finches and buntings. \nBring mid-walk refreshments. The route is 4 miles and the whole area is exposed\, so dress accordingly. \nParking is at the larger of two RSPB car parks (beware if you simply type RSPB Medmerry into Google Maps – you may end up at the wrong one).
