The local council has committed to a wide range of policies to protect nature from the South Downs to the coast.
Their ‘new vision’ was announced on October 15 and includes a pesticide-free policy for Adur and Worthing, street tree planting and work with local groups to protect local habitat.
One area top be targeted is the Adur Estuary SSSI, where they vow to ‘work with communities and partners to help protect key habitats such as the Adur Estuary and Cissbury Fields’.
This all sounds very promising but, as we all know, words are easy when it comes to nature so we’ll be keeping a close eye on this to see what actually happens.
