A Little Stint has been the star of the show around the Adur this week, with the bird hanging around by a small pool in a field beside the river.
Little Stints are the smallest UK wader and breed on tundra in northern Europe before journeying south for the winter, stopping in the UK to rest and feed.
Feeding alongside a Common Sandpiper and a Dunlin on a pool just beyond the iron bridge on the east side of the Adur, the beautiful little bird has attracted a steady stream of birders, there to catch a glimpse of the bird before he continues on its travels.
You just never know what you’re going to see around these parts!
