Gannet

The UK’s largest seabird, the Gannet is a spectacular sight off Sussex coasts, plunge-diving with dramatic speed during migration.

Seen offshore from Worthing Beaches, Widewater, and Berighton Marina, especially on passage.

Silent at sea. Diving behaviour is iconic—steep plunge from height.

🍴 Diet

Fish, especially mackerel and herring.
