A very rare eastern vagrant with only a few UK records. Extremely elusive and hard to detect.

Large thrush with golden-brown and black scaled plumage

Prominent eye-ring and bold underwing pattern

Shy, ground-dwelling bird

🗺️ Habitat & Distribution

If recorded, most likely in dense woodland or coastal scrub in autumn, such as Beachy Head or the Cuckmere Valley.

🎶 Voice & Behaviour

Typically silent in the UK. Hops through leaf litter; extremely secretive.
