Dungeness & Rye Trip Racks Up 93 Birds For SDOS

SDOS outings are legendary and our January trip to Dungeness and Rye was no exception, with a whopping 93 species spotted.

Stop-offs on the way, at Hastings and Pett Level, was very productive, with Fulmar, Red Throated Diver, Bearded Tit and White-Fronted Goose some of the highlights.

On to Dungeness where we spotted Great White Egret, Goldeneye, Bewick’s and Whooper Swan and an incredible Starling murmuration of 10,000+ birds.

Day two at a rather soggy Rye produced Pintail, Spoonbill and Golden Plover among (a lot of) others.

All in all a fantastic trip crammed full of fabulous birds and good company!
