Minibus outing to Pagham Harbour
Dear SDOS members
As the funeral for Clive Hope is at Worthing Crematorium on Wednesday 16th September SDOS Council have decided to postpone the trip to Pagham Harbour so that any members that wish to attend his funeral can do so.
For those who wish to make their own way to Pagham please be aware that the trip has been rescheduled to Wednesday 30th September. The minibus from Shoreham is likely to arrive at around 9am so please aim to be at the RSPB visitor centre for then.
Facilities: Toilets are available at the visitor centre from 9AM.
The centre opens at 10AM. Hot drinks and snacks are available here.
What to expect:
We will start our birding searching the hedgerows for migratory birds and looking out over Ferry Pool for water birds. We shall then follow the track out to Church Norton, passing reed-lined pools, areas of saltmarsh and fields along the way. At Church Norton we will spend time looking out towards Tern Island.
We shall have a picnic lunch here, before walking back along the track towards the visitor centre. The pace will be gentle, and the total distance will be approximately 4 miles on flat terrain. Leaders will bring scopes to help everyone get good views of any special birds.
Jenny Holter & Dave Phillips will be co-leading the trip.

Please note that RSPB members can park for free, otherwise the charge is is £4 for over 4 hours parking.
