On a sunny, if blustery, Saturday morning, SDOS legend, Clive Hope, led a party of over 20 members on a fantastic walk on Monarch’s Way by Nepcote.
Passage migrants such as Common Redstart, Spotted Flycatcher and Wheatear were all present along with five raptor species – Red Kite, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel and, best of all, two Hobbys.
A flyover by four Curlew was the icing on the cake while other birds spotted included Corn Bunting, Yellowhammer, Swallow, Sand Martin, Jay, Greenfinch and Common Whitethroat.
All in all a superb walk with wonderful birds and, just as important, wonderful people!
Keep an eye out for the next SDOS walk and once again, thanks to the fantastic leader, Clive Hope!
