Jenny is an enthusiastic birdwatcher who loves exploring the natural world. She enjoys walking and travelling, both locally and to distant places, and relishes the rich variety of birdlife and fabulous scenery encountered.
She joined Sdos in 2009 and learned much from attending indoor and outdoor events and birding alongside others, building her own confidence and bird knowledge. The group was very welcoming and good friendships were formed.
Jenny joined SDOS Council when she retired, taking on the role of Minutes Secretary, but also supporting a range of walks and community events. In 2026 Jenny has taken on the role of Chair and is looking forward to continuing to move the Society forward, both as a welcoming group for beginners and experts alike and also as an advocate for birds in the local area. She hopes to achieve this through raising awareness of birdlife and contributing to local conservation initiatives, with the support of Council colleagues and Society members.
