Some very heartening news courtesy of the fantastic SDOS-linked Worthing and Adur Swifts Group, how have put up their first two Swift boxes at Greystoke Manor luxury residential care home in Ferring.
With four more sites in the village set to take boxes before the spring, this is really positive news for our Swifts.
The incomparable Paul Stevens both built and installed the next boxes himself so let’s hope our Swifts make use of them in 2026 when they return from Africa.
Part of Shoreham District Ornithological Society, the Worthing and Adur Swifts Group is looking for more suitable sites in specific swift friendly spots in the town. So, if you are interested in learning more about their work, helping survey for swifts next spring, or even in hosting a swift box, please follow their Facebook group.
